We need your help.

Join us now and help contribute to a political landscape that supports our needs and helps us make positive change for our communities throughout Australia.

The Muslim community is the largest, and among the fastest growing, minority groups in Australia.

Our collective voting bloc is the most valuable, yet underutilised, asset we have.

Muslim Votes Matter unlocks this highly influential tool which requires significant organisation, forward planning, and community mobilisation.

  • An important Fatwa issued by the Australian Fatwa Council on December 29, 2022, which addresses the permissibility of distributing Zakaat to Islamic organisations that work to preserve the Islamic identity in Australia.

The Fatwa stipulates that it is permissible to allocate portions of Zakaat to Islamic institutions and organisations dedicated to maintaining Islamic identity.

“Muslim Votes Matter is a pivotal organisation committed to advocating for the rights and representation of Muslims in Australia in the 2025 election and beyond. Their efforts are critical in empowering the Muslim community, ensuring our voices are heard in Government, and preserving our Islamic identity through active participation in the democratic process. Given their mission and current financial needs, I can confirm Muslim Votes Matter meets the criteria specified in the Fatwa for Zakaat eligibility.” Sheikh Alaa Elzokm OAM
